Day 2 – Exploring the Rose City of Petra
This day is dedicated to one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological wonders: Petra. Carved from sandstone cliffs by the Nabataeans more than two thousand years ago, Petra fascinates archaeologists and travelers to this day. Entering through the narrow Siq canyon, you will make your way toward the awe-inspiring Treasury, Petra’s most iconic monument. From there, the site unfolds into a vast city with temples, royal tombs, and an ancient amphitheater.
Your guide will lead you through the mysteries of this desert capital, once a bustling trade hub linking Arabia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean. For those seeking more adventure, you may choose an optional hike to the “Monastery”, Petra’s largest monument, perched high above the valley, or the High Place of Sacrifice, where sweeping views connect history with desert majesty.
