JUDY AND LEE TRIP TO ISRAEL TOUR PROPOSAL

Shalom and Welcome to Israel! I am happy to present a suggested itinerary for your upcoming trip to Israel. Please note that none of the activities and hotels have been booked yet. Excited to hear your thoughts!

Proposed Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: May 16th (Saturday)  – Arrival and transfer to the Hotel

  • Arrival at Ben-Gurion Airport.
  • VIP Airport Service and transfer to the hotel.
  • Free evening in Tel Aviv.

Overnight: Kempinski or Setai Hotel, Tel-Aviv

DAY 2: May 17th (Sunday) – Tour of Jaffa and Tel Aviv

  • 9:00 Meet the guide and head for a walking tour through the alleys of Old Jaffa.
  • Continue by car through Neve Tzedek neighborhood, and along Rothschild Boulevard.
  • Optional visit to the Hall of Independence.
  • Continue to the Rabin Assassination site and a drive through the City Center
  • Optional tour of Tel Aviv Art Museum, Palmach Museum, or ANU Museum.
  • Optional lunch + stroll and shopping in Sarona Market or Hacarmel Market

Overnight: Kempinski or Setai Hotel, Tel-Aviv

DAY 3: May 18th (Monday) – Caesarea and Nazareth

  • Tour the highlights of Roman-era Caesarea: Herod’s Sunken port, the hippo-stadium, Herod’s Palace, Paul’s Prison (?), the Theatre and Aquaduct beach.
  • Pass by Megiddo and cross the plains of Armageddon
  • Tour Nazareth’s Church of Annunciation and the Holy Family Church.
  • Enjoy a local Arab cuisine for lunch.
  • Reach the Wedding Church in Cana, with an optional Renewal of the Vows ceremony.
  • Drive across the Galilee to Tiberias

Overnight: The Scots Hotel, Tiberias

DAY 4: May 19th (Saturday) – Around the Sea of Galilee

  • 9:00 Head to Mount of Beatitudes and learn about Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount”.
  • Continue to Capernaum and reach its synagogue and Saint Peter Church.
  • See the 2,000-year-old Boat of the Galilee on display in Kibbutz Ginosar, and possibly meet its finder.
  • Enjoy Lunch in a local fish restaurant, and a possible private sail on the Sea of Galilee.
  • Enter Magdala and admire its first-century synagogue and mysterious stone.

Overnight: The Scots Hotel, Tiberias

DAY 5: May 20th (WEDNESDAY) – The Golan Heights and a Helicopter Flight

  • 9:00 Checkout and ascend to Golan Heights.
  • Reach the top of Mount Bental and view into Syria.
  • Optional off-road tour along the Syrian border.
  • Visit the 1973 “Valley of Tears” battle site.
  • Lunch and hospitality experience in a Druze village.
  • Optional visit to a local winery or Chocolatier.
  • Scenic Helicopter flight above the Golan Heights, Sea of Galilee, the Jordan valley, and the Judean Desert to Jerusalem.

Overnight: The King David or David Citadel Hotel, Jerusalem

DAY 6: May 21th (Thursday, Shavuot Eve) – City of David, Friday Markets

  • city of david area g shutterstock9:00 head to a VIP tour of the City of David. See King David’s Palace, Warren Shaft, and Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Continue to the Pool of Siloam and ascend the Pilgrimage Road.
  • Visit the Western Wall.
  • Continue to Mahane Yudah Market for a special lunch experience followed by a stroll through the market.
  • Drive through Mea Shearim Ultra Orthodox neighborhood.
  • Conclude the day at Mount of Olives viewpoint.

Overnight: The King David or David Citadel Hotel, Jerusalem

DAY 7: May 22th (Friday, Shavuot) – Jerusalem’s Old City

  • Holy Sepulchre Jerusalem Shutterstock9:00 Head to the Holy Sepulcher and learn about its significance to Christianity.
  • Walk along the stations of the Cross and the local markets of the Old City (the Suq).
  • Visit the Pools of Bethesdah and enjoy a light lunch break.
  • Continue to the Jewish Quarter and a view of the Western Wall.
  • Visit the Room of Last Supper and King David’s Tomb Mark on Mount Zion.

Overnight: The King David or David Citadel Hotel, Jerusalem

DAY 8: May 23th (Saturday) – Bethlehem and the Israel Museum

  • Visit the Church of the Nativity and the Milk Grotto.
  • Continue to the Shepherd’s Fields.
  • Lunch and shopping break in Bethlehem
  • Return to Jerusalem and have a private guided tour through the highlights of the Israel Museum.

Overnight: The King David or David Citadel Hotel, Jerusalem

DAY 9: May 24th (Sunday) – Masada and the Dead Sea

  • masada9:00 Checkout and drive down into the Judean Desert.
  • Track near Qumran the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
  • Drive through Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.
  • Ascend by Cable car to Masada and admire the dramatic site.
  • Enjoy a lunch, swim, and spa at the Herod’s Dead Sea Hotel.
  • 2.5 hours’ transfer to Eilat

Overnight: The Dan Eilat Hotel

DAY 10: May 25th (Monday) – Day Tour to Petra

  • petra9:00 Head to the border crossing into Jordan.
  • Meet the Jordanian representative and drive along Wadi Rum.
  • Visit Petra’s museum and walk along the Siq.
  • Admire Petra’s Al-Khazaneh monument and adjacent theatre.
  • A lunch break at Movenpick restaurant and return to Eilat
  • 2 hours’ drive to Ramon Crater.

Overnight: Beresheet Hotel, Mizpe Ramon

DAY 11: May 26th (Tuesday) – Exploring the Ramon Crater

  • 9:00 Off-road Jeep safari tour of the Ramon Crater. Optional rappelling at the crater’s northern rim.
  • Optional visit to a local winery and/or Ramon Crater’s Visitors center.
  • Relax and enjoy the resort’s amenities.
  • Optional Stargazing session at night.

Overnight: Beresheet Hotel, Mizpe Ramon

DAY 12: May 27th (Wednesday) – Departure

  • 2 hours’ drive through the Negev to Ben-Gurion Airport
  • VIP airport service.
  • Farewell and l’Hitra’ot! (“See you again” in Hebrew)
