Discover in Comfort
This private two-day journey through the Galilee and Golan is designed for seniors and travelers with limited mobility. Each site was selected for both comfort and meaning, allowing participants to experience northern Israel without pressure or strain. The tour uses minimal walking routes and plenty of time for breaks and reflection. A folding wheelchair can also be provided if needed, ensuring every guest can participate with ease.
The journey begins in Nazareth, where sacred traditions and historic churches mark the childhood home of Jesus. The Basilica of the Annunciation stands as one of Christianity’s holiest sites, built above ancient ruins and richly decorated with icons from around the world. Continue to Cana, where tradition holds that Jesus performed his first miracle at a wedding feast. Here, the modest churches honor the transformation of water into wine, an event symbolizing joy, renewal, and divine blessing.
After exploring these towns, you can enjoy a lakeside lunch overlooking the peaceful waters of the Sea of Galilee. The gentle breezes and tranquil atmosphere make the stop both restful and inspiring. An optional private sail follows, on a handcrafted wooden boat replicating a 12-seat fishing vessel discovered along the lake’s shoreline. Boarding is easy, and shaded seating provides a comfortable way to glide across waters once crossed by fishermen and disciples alike. This sail offers an unforgettable perspective, blending archaeological discovery with living spiritual tradition.
Continue to the Yigal Alon Museum, which presents one of Israel’s most remarkable finds: a 1st-century fishing boat preserved in mud for nearly 2,000 years. Its fragile wooden planks testify to everyday Jewish life during the time of Jesus in the Galilee. From here, advance to Magdala, once a prosperous Jewish port town. Excavations here revealed one of the oldest known synagogues, with a mysterious carved stone and ritual baths from the Second Temple period. Shaded pathways and benches make the site comfortable to visit while also opening a window to an extraordinary chapter of Jewish history.
Begin the day at the Mount of Beatitudes, where a serene hillside garden looks over the shimmering lake. The modern octagonal church recalls the words of the Sermon on the Mount, offering a setting of peace and meditation. Continue to Capernaum, where impressive basalt ruins reveal a once-thriving Jewish village. The remains of a Byzantine-era ornate white synagogue stand proudly, adjacent to a striking modern church built directly over the home believed to be that of Peter. From the shoreline, the quiet lapping of the waves creates a timeless scene, inviting moments of spiritual reflection.
Lunch is enjoyed among the Druze community, known for their warm hospitality and unique cultural traditions. Traditional dishes are served generously, accompanied by stories of heritage and family. This cultural encounter provides depth to the day, balancing history with living tradition. The tour will conclude at Caesarea Philippi, nestled at the base of Mount Hermon. Archaeological remains of temples and shrines recall a place once devoted to pagan gods, later mentioned in the Gospels as the setting where Peter declared his faith in Jesus. This site concludes the journey in a place of both beauty and deep biblical resonance.
