Day 3 – The Judean Desert Experience
The final day expands into the desert landscapes of the Judean wilderness, where biblical stories and early Christian memories come alive. The first stop is the Good Samaritan Inn, recalling the parable of the traveler who received help on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho. Next is the Baptism Site on the Jordan River, where tradition places the baptism of Jesus, and Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
Continuing through the wilderness, you will drive through the Ein Gedi oasis, a place of dramatic cliffs, springs, and caves where David once hid from Saul. Reaching the desert fortress of Masada, ascend to its top by cable car to admire its extraordinary ruins that preserve a story of resilience and faith. The day also includes time to swim and float in the waters of the Dead Sea, a unique natural wonder.
Finally, the tour pauses at the viewpoint of Saint George Monastery, perched dramatically at the cliffs of Wadi Qelt. Its stunning view across the desert serves as an appropriate and unforgettable ending to this journey of faith.
