3-Day Christian Tour of Jerusalem & Judean Desert

Christian Pilgrimage Journey

This 3-day private Christian tour weaves together the sacred heart of Jerusalem with the dramatic landscapes of the Judean Desert. Each day connects biblical tradition with living history, visiting the places where Jesus and His followers walked, prayed, and taught. The journey blends spiritual moments with archaeological discoveries, offering a deep experience of devotion and heritage in the Holy Land.

Day 1 – Sacred Jerusalem and the Garden Tomb

room of the last supperThe first day begins on Mount Zion, where you will visit the Room of the Last Supper, believed to be the setting of the final meal Jesus shared with His disciples. Nearby is Mary’s Rest Place, a site linked to the tradition of her final moments in Jerusalem. The site also marks the Pentecost Site, recalling the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. Next, enter the Old City and reach the Herodian Quarter, where the lavish homes of Jerusalem’s priestly elite possibly mark Jesus’ interrogation site.

The journey continues to the Western Wall, a surviving remnant of the Temple complex, where prayer and reflection create a deeply moving atmosphere. After a coffee break, join the Via Dolorosa, tracing the steps of Jesus to His crucifixion. The route concludes at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the holiest shrine of Christianity, marking both the crucifixion and resurrection. End the day at the Garden Tomb, a serene and contemplative site that offers an alternative reflection on the resurrection narrative.

Day 2 – The Mount of Olives and Sacred Jerusalem Sites

The second day begins at the Mount of Olives, where sacred shrines mark pivotal moments in Jesus’ life and ministry. Visit the Chapel of the Ascension, recalling the moment of Jesus’ departure into heaven, and the Church of the Pater Noster, which preserves the Lord’s Prayer in many languages. At the Garden of Gethsemane, among ancient olive trees, you will reflect on the night of Jesus’ agony and prayer before His arrest.

Continue to the City of David, where you’ll visit the Pool of Siloam, connected to the healing miracle described in the Gospel of John. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to the Israel Museum, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the large-scale Model of Second Temple Jerusalem, offering a vivid sense of the city in Jesus’ time.

Day 3 – The Judean Desert Experience

The final day expands into the desert landscapes of the Judean wilderness, where biblical stories and early Christian memories come alive. The first stop is the Good Samaritan Inn, recalling the parable of the traveler who received help on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho. Next is the Baptism Site on the Jordan River, where tradition places the baptism of Jesus, and Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

Continuing through the wilderness, you will drive through the Ein Gedi oasis, a place of dramatic cliffs, springs, and caves where David once hid from Saul. Reaching the desert fortress of Masada, ascend to its top by cable car to admire its extraordinary ruins that preserve a story of resilience and faith. The day also includes time to swim and float in the waters of the Dead Sea, a unique natural wonder.

Finally, the tour pauses at the viewpoint of Saint George Monastery, perched dramatically at the cliffs of Wadi Qelt. Its stunning view across the desert serves as an appropriate and unforgettable ending to this journey of faith.
